About me Ingemar Ohlsson

  • I began to play saxophone in various bands. Employed as a clarinet and saxophone player in the Military Band of Linköping, Sweden. 

  • Studied Violoncello at the Music Academy of Prague in the Czech Republic with Prof, Milos Sadlo and at the Music Academy in Helsinki with Prof, Art Noras.

  • Employed as violoncellist in the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra and active as a soloist with the orchestra as well and as a Chamber musician.

  • Toured with the EPOS-TRIO, together with the Violinist Jaroslav Sonsky in Sweden and made radio recordings in Scandinavia, Germany, France, Austria, Romania, Italy, Greece, Africa, Canada, USA and Japan. 

  • Second Principal solo-cellist in the Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Sweden. Taught chamber music at the Academy of Music in Malmö, Sweden. Recordings made for TV and radio both as a soloist and as a chamber musician.

  • Employed as Professor at the Brandon University of Music in Canada. Taught violoncello, chamber music and conducted the University orchestra. 

  • Member of the Brandon University trio and made radio recordings in Canada.

  • Played with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra. 

  • Studied conducting with the Conductor Everett Lee, Conductor Gunnar Stearn, Conductor Jorma Paula Helsinki, Finland.

  • Conducted the Collegium A. Dvorak Chamber Orchestra while touring in Sweden, Germany and in the Czech Republic and while making radio recordings and a CD recording.

  • Conducted the B. Martinu Philharmonic Orchestra while touring in the Czech Republic and in Germany.

  • Conducted the Sudecka Philharmonic in Poland, Karlovy vary Philharmonic in the Czech Republic. Linköping wind ensemble in Sweden. Puellarum Pragensis in Prague. Royal Orchestra in Prague and The Golden Prague Chamber Orchestra in Prague in the Czech Republic.

  • Employed at the Opera House in Malmö, Sweden. Conductor and organised orchestra courses in Sweden and in the Czech Republic.

  • Composed and produced the musicals such as The Golden Girl, Noah´s Ark and the Bird.

  • Produced and conducted music festivals and operas such as Cavalleria Rusticana, Pajazzo and Carmen and musicals such as Jesus Christ Superstar and A Chorus Line.

  • Founder of Blue Topaz Records. A CD recording was released with own compositions and arrangements

I began to compose this collection of music during the time of my life when I suddenly began to understand the value and importance of all the years  I have participated in the music world. 

All kinds of music I have played over those years have left me with different kinds of feelings inside which have helped me to understand and transform myself into whom I really am and shown me what I really want to: To create music.

Note: Concert band ensemble consists of:

Two flutes, two oboes, four clarinets, two bassoons, four horns, four trumpets, two trombones, bass trombone, tuba, percussion.
